Job summary

The Actuary is representing a client in a high‑impact role to shape a portfolio‑led underwriting proposition in a dynamic construction insurance business. You will use data, pricing insight and performance analytics to drive smarter decision‑making and long‑term profitability.

You will evaluate delegated authority and portfolio structures, develop portfolio‑level underwriting strategies and monitor performance through KPIs to support forecasting, scenario analysis and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in portfolio analytics and pricing insight.
• Strong understanding of delegated authority and reinsurance/treaty environments.
• Ability to develop portfolio-level underwriting strategies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage delegated authority and portfolio structures.
• Develop underwriting strategies at a portfolio level to drive growth and profitability.
• Use performance analyses to optimise risk, returns and growth across a diversified book.
• Build and refine portfolio frameworks with KPI monitoring for loss ratios and rate adequacy.
• Contribute to forecasting, scenario analysis and stress testing for governance and planning.
• Move closer to the commercial side of the business within construction insurance.
