Job summary

Meraki Talent partners with a UK-wide investment management firm to appoint a Portfolio Director. You will lead model portfolios' management and governance as the technical investment specialist and primary adviser contact.

You will drive performance, support scalable distribution, and deliver high-quality client communications to boost adviser adoption and retention. Leadership and mentoring of juniors are included.

Qualifications

• Experience managing portfolios at scale and complexity.
• Strong technical investment knowledge.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Level 7 qualification (CWM or CFA preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define and implement investment strategies aligned to model risk profiles.
• Oversee portfolio construction, performance, and ongoing optimisation.
• Maintain robust investment governance, documentation, and regulatory evidence.
• Manage risk metrics including tracking error, volatility, and cost controls.
• Ensure consistent implementation across third-party platforms.
• Apply performance data and portfolio health checks to inform decisions.
• Deliver clear, insightful portfolio updates to advisers.
• Develop and deliver training materials to support adviser understanding.
• Produce thought leadership, market insights, and client-focused content.
• Gather feedback to continuously enhance the investment proposition.

This role will see you lead the management and governance of model portfolios, acting as the technical investment specialist and key point of contact for advisers. You will play a pivotal role in driving portfolio performance, supporting scalable distribution, and delivering high-quality client communication to enhance adviser adoption and retention.

Key Responsibilities will include;

• Define and implement investment strategies aligned to model risk profiles
• Oversee portfolio construction, performance, and ongoing optimisation
• Maintain robust investment governance, documentation, and regulatory evidence

This role will also encompass leadership and mentoring of junior team member, supporting development and progression.
