Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment in the UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager to provide assurance across a portfolio of complex Projects and Programmes. This role is advisory, guiding and mentoring other PMs to deliver within regulatory standards.

You will coach, lead governance, and ensure delivery on time, cost and quality while promoting best practices and continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience operating within complex Project or Programme environments.
• Strong understanding of Project governance, controls, assurance and performance management.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert Project Management guidance, assurance and leadership across multiple projects and programmes.
• Coach, mentor and support Project Management to develop capability and deliver improved outcomes.
• Promote consistency and excellence in PM practices, governance and reporting.
• Review project performance and challenge delivery against baselines and objectives.
• Support Project Managers with risk, resource and stakeholder management.
• Ensure activities comply with AWE PM framework, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Influence senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in delivery practices.
• Champion high standards of environment, safety, health, security and quality.
• Support strategic decision‑making through analysis, reporting and oversight.
