Job Opportunity: Analytical Professional in Insurance Start-up

IPS has partnered with a highly innovative, technology-driven start-up, MGU, in their search for a broadly skilled analytical professional. The role involves working across Catastrophe Modelling, Pricing, and Portfolio Analytics, focusing on niche product lines in the US E&S Market. The founders, experienced underwriters with strong backing from the US and London insurance markets, plan to grow the team and potentially have individuals specialize in specific product lines.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Development and maintenance of pricing models for various products.
  2. Data visualization of pricing performance, profitability, and risk exposure for management and external stakeholders.
  3. Monitoring market trends, competitor actions, and regulatory changes affecting pricing and portfolio performance.
  4. Providing catastrophe analytics to assess capital impacts.
  5. Researching catastrophe models to optimize risk assessment.

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience in Pricing, Catastrophe Modelling, or Portfolio Analytics, preferably within the US E&S market.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, R, Python, SAS, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
