Job summary

SSE plc seeks a Portfolio Optimisation Lead on a 12-month fixed-term contract to maximise the performance and reliability of the electricity network. You will drive scenario analysis, develop value frameworks and support investment decisions across risk, performance and financial outcomes.

Based in Reading, Glasgow or Perth with 50% travel, you will collaborate across Asset Planning, Strategy, Digital and Data teams and mentor analysts while advancing analytical capability and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with investment planning in regulated utilities.
• Proven track record leading complex analytical projects.
• Strong numerical and data analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Product Owner for the investment optimiser and maximise value across risk, performance and financial outcomes.
• Deliver portfolio optimisation, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and risk assessments for planning and regulatory decisions.
• Develop and maintain value frameworks, models and reporting for prioritising asset interventions and investment programmes.
• Collaborate with Asset Planning, Strategy, Digital and Data teams to improve the quality and value of thematic insights for investment decisions.
• Provide technical leadership, translate challenges into recommendations, mentor analysts, and improve processes.
