Job Description:

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Portfolio Manager to join our Team. This role is pivotal in overseeing, optimising, and driving the performance of portfolio companies, with a focus on companies requiring strategic growth interventions, preparation for exit, operational or financial restructuring, or other strategic adjustments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in enhancing portfolio value within the VC or relevant unquoted investment space.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of venture investments, focusing on value creation and protecting the fund’s investments.
  2. Value Maximization and Liquidity: Identify and implement exit strategies to maximize returns, coordinating with investment and finance teams.
  3. Strategic Improvements: Work with portfolio companies’ management to identify gaps and implement growth strategies.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with company boards and stakeholders, providing guidance and support.
  5. Investment Recommendations: Analyze and support follow-on investments, prepare investment papers, and participate in decision-making.
  6. Market Analysis & Research: Keep updated on industry trends and economic conditions to inform strategies.
  7. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports on portfolio performance, risks, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in unquoted investment portfolio management, turnaround management, or operational performance improvement within venture capital, private equity, or similar asset classes.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with deep understanding of valuation and operational metrics.
  • Ability to influence and lead management teams and Boards, especially as a minority investor.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, with a history of improving performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across different growth stages and sectors.
