Job summary

Core-Asset Consulting is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join its Multi-Asset Investment team in the UK. The role focuses on flagship multi-asset portfolios, building investment ideas, asset allocation and risk management within a high-performing, collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to portfolio construction, research and development of innovative investment solutions, with hybrid working and travel expenses covered. 3 days in Newcastle office weekly.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years front-office investment experience
  • Experience in a multi-asset environment or institutional framework
  • Strong understanding of strategic and tactical asset allocation
  • Proven portfolio construction and risk management
  • Experience generating and implementing investment ideas
  • Strong macroeconomic, market and analytical research skills
  • Experience contributing to investment committees or governance structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with constructive challenge
  • CFA Charterholder or CFA candidate advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Conduct macroeconomic and cross-asset investment research
  • Contribute to the firm's investment house view and strategic thinking
  • Support and lead portfolio construction decisions across multi-asset mandates
  • Generate, analyse and implement investment ideas
  • Monitor and manage portfolio risk within established parameters
  • Contribute to investment committees and governance forums
  • Prepare investment recommendations supported by robust analysis
  • Communicate investment views and portfolio positioning to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with portfolio managers, analysts and senior investment leaders to drive outcomes

Job description

Our client, a highly successful and rapidly growing UK investment firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join the Multi-Asset Investment team. This role will focus primarily on a flagship range of multi-asset portfolios, which have consistently delivered top-quartile performance.

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded investment team at a pivotal stage of its evolution, contributing directly to portfolio construction, active asset allocation, investment research and the development of innovative investment solutions.

This position allows for hybrid working and the successful role holder will be expected to spend 3 days in the office in Newcastle. Travel expenses are covered for this role.

Essential Skills/Experience:
  • A minimum of 5-7years' front-office investment experience involving active investment decision-making and risk-taking
  • Experience within a multi-asset investment environment, or asset-class-specific experience gained within an institutional investment framework, ideally you will have worked in a firm that has a multi-asset track record
  • Strong understanding of strategic and tactical asset allocation
  • Proven portfolio construction and risk management capabilities
  • Experience generating and implementing investment ideas
  • Strong macroeconomic, market and analytical research skills
  • Experience contributing to investment committees or formal governance structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative approach coupled with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • CFA Charterholder, CFA candidate or equivalent investment qualification would be advantageous
