Team / division overview

The Passive Portfolio Management Team at DWS manages the full range of X-trackers across Equity and Fixed Income Exchange Traded Funds, as well as Segregated mandates, covering a wide range of index providers and benchmark types from multiple ESG flavours to Thematics. DWS has a global and integrated investment platform with a strong footprint globally. With presence in 17 locations, we cover the most important financial markets in the world. Our investment platform employs approximately 900 investment professionals, covering key financial markets, regions, and asset classes. You will play a key role as Portfolio Engineer within the team.

Role Details:

As an Equity Portfolio Manager you will:

• Carry out daily management of the index equity portfolios via portfolio construction and trade implementation
• Support the management of client flows efficiently
• Manage investment and risk exposures, while determining optimal hedging strategies where applicable
• Determine optimal portfolio strategy to minimize tracking error to index, ensuring trading accuracy across corporate actions and cash flows
• Work on projects geared towards creating efficiency and bringing scale/automation for platform development
• Work closely with trading desks to determine optimal execution strategies
• Contribute to new and existing product development processes
• Oversee Net Asset Value, Portfolio Composition File reconciliations, and performance attribution analysis

We are looking for:

• Strong financial product knowledge across Equities, Fixed Income, or Commodities, with exposure to Index, Synthetic, Delta-one, or Derivative instruments
• Experience from Portfolio Management, Trading, Index Research with knowledge of portfolio construction, performance & attribution, and ETF servicing
• Knowledge of index methodologies from providers like FTSE, S&P, MSCI
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills, including Python, VBA, and Excel proficiency
• Understanding of rebalance trading strategies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, Reuters, Factset, Aladdin, Barra BPM, Bloomberg Portfolio Management
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification/relevant experience
