Portfolio Lead Business Analyst - Investment & Operations

The Investment and Operations Change and Technology team provides strategic change and technology solutions to support investment performance, enhance client outcomes, and improve operational efficiency. The type of change ranges from incremental business-as-usual changes to large-scale transformation initiatives.

The Portfolio Lead Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Investment and Operations team by leading the analysis and management of a diverse portfolio of projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership: Leading a team of 5-10 business analysts, continually developing talent and improving performance to ensure the function is high performing.
  2. Programme Partnership: Partner with programme leads to ensure the quality and consistency of analysis within their portfolios and proactively develop the workforce to support the strategic change roadmap.
  3. Player/Manager role: Conduct business analysis activities, including business capability assessments, target operating model design, and feasibility assessments to support business case development, solution options, and recommendations.
  4. Community of Practice: Collaborate with other Portfolio Lead Business Analysts to drive consistency, share best practices, and enhance business outcomes and employee engagement.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across Investment and Operations, seeking feedback and influencing effectively.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Proven ability to define target operating models, conduct business capability and feasibility assessments.
  • Ability to manage and coach business analyst resources.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite and executives.
  • Strong facilitation skills for eliciting information from stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex data clearly to different audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Deep understanding of business analysis tools, techniques, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with lateral thinking and creativity.
  • Ability to identify and support benefits realization.
  • Aligning business solutions with corporate strategy.
  • Support system training and change management strategies.
  • Knowledge of asset classes (public and private) and middle/back-office operations.
Experience:
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Highly experienced Business Analyst with a proven track record in financial services, preferably asset management.
  • Proactive, delivery-focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in transformation and project delivery.
