The Portfolio Governance & Support Manager is a member of the Transformation & Portfolio Office Team, responsible for the development and delivery of functional strategies, role always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.

The Portfolio Governance & Support Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of our transformation programme by ensuring robust governance structures, and effective and efficient support and administrative mechanisms are in place. This role ensures governance cadence alignment across the programme, promoting transparency, and enabling efficient decision-making.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experienced People Manager with proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers, to contribute to the development of, and deliver, a functional strategy to achieve objectives.

• Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross-functional, stakeholder relationships.

• Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to achieve key objectives.

• Comprehensive proven experience in a PMO, programme support, and governance role within a large complex transformation or change programme.

• Experience with the implementation and development of reporting and programme frameworks.

• Strong knowledge of programme and project governance frameworks and tools.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Proficiency in programme management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, Power BI).

• Familiarity with Agile delivery approaches and hybrid programme models.

• An enabler and leader who can speak with knowledge and confidence in their subject matter.

• Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.

• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
