Job Description

The Portfolio Delivery Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery process of projects and programmes for the product pillar and the overall success and efficiency of Project Management delivery to NEC Public Safety customers. This role is responsible for ensuring Projects, within the Public Safety portfolio, meet the agreed budget, time, and quality criteria.

Leading a team of Programme and Project Managers, resource management and optimisation are key aspects of this role. The role ensures that trained and skilled resources are aligned to meet business needs.

The Portfolio Delivery Manager will work from Chippenham and Nottingham, with regular travel to and at these sites based on business needs. Travel for customer and supplier meetings will also be required.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery Strategy: Develop and execute project and programme delivery strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Projects & Programme Management: Manage the portfolio, including resource allocation, prioritisation, and scheduling to ensure timely, within-budget, high-quality delivery.
  • New Opportunities: Collaborate with sales to assess resources, effort, and provide insights for accurate pricing.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Act as escalation point, manage expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Build relationships with internal stakeholders and manage third-party providers.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and develop mitigation strategies for risks and issues.
  • Resource & Team Management: Allocate resources effectively and lead the project and programme teams.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Establish quality standards, conduct audits, and drive process improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Ensure effective communication among teams and stakeholders.
