A well-respected London Market Syndicate is recruiting for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to oversee and optimize a portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable impact.
As Portfolio Delivery Lead, you will:
- Proactively manage projects based on demand, ensuring expectations and deadlines are met.
- Maintain awareness of execution details while identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities across multiple projects.
- Communicate clear status updates, risks, and recommendations at a senior level, with familiarity in project execution for key initiatives.
- Line manage all project managers, track project progress, enforce scope adherence, and coach teams to drive accountability and best practices.
- Support the Head of IT Delivery (UK and Bermuda) in evolving the Change Management Framework and promoting its benefits across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all project managers, ensuring effective team leadership.
- Utilize industry knowledge to understand project scope and challenge delivery methods in line with budget and timelines.
- Lead project managers with vision, integrity, empathy, and effective communication, fostering potential in others.
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Management Office to identify improvements, drive process adherence, and manage conflicts.
- Manage delivery of strategic initiatives per the Change Management Framework.
- Guide the team in planning, maintaining detailed plans throughout project cycles.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers to meet project deliverables within scope and budget.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and stored appropriately.
- Promote continuous improvement and challenge norms.
Person Specification:
- Proven leadership with relationship-building, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Extensive project and programme management experience in the Insurance industry, with strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong end-to-end project lifecycle experience using various methodologies.
