Job description

This role requires the individual to work in a highly collaborative environment within Leonardo UK across our sites and with industrial partners. The role involves consolidating, interpreting, and analyzing costing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual pricing principles, supporting financial reporting responsibilities and timelines. The individual will manage the day-to-day workload of the existing costing team, oversee the consolidation and analysis of costing data, and work closely with the FCAS PMO. The role also involves providing expertise to Work Package Leads to understand cost drivers and contribute to driving efficiencies to increase affordability.

What you will do:

• Develop and support complex estimating models for future bids.
• Manage the daily workload of the costing team.
• Drive process improvements to enhance team efficiencies.
• Present estimating requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Consolidate inputs from multiple lines of business.
• Perform data analysis to support affordability and pricing discussions related to contract proposals and business cases.
• Ensure pricing adherence to company standards.
• Maintain integrity and accuracy within estimates.
• Focus on future funding requirements.

Your skills and experiences:

• Strong understanding of estimating processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating estimating models.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and self-manage.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build internal and external relationships.
• Understanding of economic variables affecting long-term pricing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to present and challenge at various organizational levels.
• Analytical, logical, with a desire for continuous improvement and personal development.
• A proactive, dynamic team player capable of developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• ERP system experience (SAP).
• Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle management.
• Experience with change management and continuous improvement tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies (desirable).
• Experience with industry-standard portfolio, program delivery, project control methodologies, and governance.
• Proven risk management capability.
