Portfolio Associate (Financial Institution Finance) at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB): AIIB is a multilateral development bank focused on infrastructure financing with sustainability at its core. Established in Beijing in 2016, it now has 110 members worldwide, capitalized at USD100 billion, and rated AAA by major credit agencies.

AIIB's Portfolio Management Department (PMD) oversees its growing investment portfolio, including loans and equity investments, ensuring portfolio quality through monitoring and analysis. PMD is seeking a Portfolio Associate for its Project & Asset Management (PAM) team. The Associate will analyze the Bank's loans, bonds, guarantees, and risk participation facilities within the Financial Institution (FI) lending portfolio, including banks and non-bank financial institutions, with or without sovereign guarantees, to maintain portfolio health and support strategic development and financial sustainability.

Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze financial statements of FI loans, assess performance, and conduct scenario analyses using financial models.
  2. Review project documentation for compliance with disbursement conditions and policies.
  3. Monitor financial performance of FI loans, including ESG reporting, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  4. Perform analytical tasks on operational, country, and sectoral issues related to the Loan portfolio.
  5. Support SPOs in addressing operational and sectoral issues, mitigating risks, and aligning projects with objectives.
  6. Advise FI borrowers and stakeholders on covenants and reporting, developing remedial strategies as needed.
  7. Deliver analytical services and reports timely to support the investment pipeline.
Requirements:
  • 4-7 years of professional experience in monitoring FI loan assets.
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, experience in financial modeling, and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure sectors like energy, transport, water, or urban development is desirable.
