About the role
We are looking for a Portfolio Associate to join the OEGEN funds team, supporting Octopus Renewables Infrastructure SCSp. The role involves valuation, portfolio management, and value creation for a unitised partnership with nearly £3bn of funds under management. It offers a clear path for development within a growing fund.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly valuation updates for assigned assets, ensuring accurate, well‑supported conclusions and preparing valuation bridges and papers.
- Develop and own valuation assumptions, challenge weak evidence, and collaborate with asset management teams to refine operational forecasts.
- Improve model consistency and efficiency using advanced Excel, VBA, automation, or other tools.
- Support engagement with external valuers, auditors, and advisers, preparing analysis and reconciling outputs.
- Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio value through refinancing, operational improvements, and strategic actions, quantifying realized value creation.
- Support the delivery of annual performance targets for allocated portfolios in partnership with asset management.
- Understand debt structures, ensure lender requirements are met, and incorporate debt, refinancing, and hedging assumptions into models and committee materials.
- Monitor investor returns, track KPIs, and ensure new acquisitions are onboarded with clear ownership, assumptions, controls, and reporting outputs.
- Support the creation of investor reports, fundraising, and due diligence processes with high‑quality data and analysis.
- Provide investment and transaction support through valuation analysis, model review, sensitivity analysis, and input into investment and committee papers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience.
- Previous experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, infrastructure asset management, project finance or infrastructure valuation; offshore wind experience is advantageous.
- Experience in discounted cash‑flow and debt modelling; advanced Excel skills; a modelling test will be part of the recruitment process.
- Strong understanding of fund management processes for debt and equity for listed funds.
- Strong written skills, with experience preparing valuation papers, investment papers, committee papers, board materials or investor‑facing analysis.
- Strong financial acumen; progress towards CFA, ACA, ACCA or another relevant qualification is advantageous.
