Ensure that adequate and appropriate levels of service are maintained to provide portering support to all wards and departments. This involves analyzing staffing levels and hospital requirements, providing timely rotas from the e-rostering system, and adjusting rotas to cover annual leave or sickness.

Handle all general enquiries from staff, patients, visitors, and the public in a helpful and courteous manner.

The post holder will be responsible for providing timely, efficient, and effective operational management to ensure that the Portering service is responsive and delivered to the highest standards, with a focus on service users. To identify changing demand on services, develop and implement plans in conjunction with the Head of Site Services and Support Service Manager, and support change management processes.

Waste Management: Ensure defined services are provided across the Trust within budgetary constraints. Plan and chair monthly waste management meetings with key stakeholders, produce terms of reference and agendas, circulate minutes, and assign responsibilities through action plans. Create and implement review programs on service performance, suggest improvements, and identify projects for service improvements or cost savings, considering provider and commissioner objectives, financial resources, clinical concerns, and legislative issues. Present new initiatives at PEG meetings.
