Porter / Handyman - Temporary / Temp to Perm
📍 Moorgate, London
💷 £13.50-£14.50 per hour
🕓 Full-time, Monday to Friday

We\'re seeking a reliable, energetic, and proactive Porter/Handyman to join the Facilities team at a large, well-renowned educational institution based near Moorgate. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth daily running of the campus - helping set up rooms, carrying out light maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Moving and arranging furniture to set up classrooms, lecture halls, and event spaces
  • Assisting with basic DIY and maintenance tasks (e.g. hanging noticeboards, tightening fixtures, touching up paint)
  • Escalating more complex maintenance issues to the Engineering team promptly
  • Monitoring facilities areas and reporting any cleaning, security, or health and safety issues to the relevant teams
  • Managing the Facilities inbox - responding to general requests, logging issues, and signposting queries to the appropriate team
  • Supporting campus operations and helping ensure all rooms and communal areas are well presented
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a facilities, porter, or maintenance support role
  • A proactive, efficient, and hands-on approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills - able to articulate clearly and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • A positive attitude with the ability to bring energy and teamwork to the Facilities department
  • Physically capable of manual handling and moving furniture
  • Reliable, customer-focused, and adaptable
