Porter- Catering Assistant – Scarborough, England

Job Description

Join our team in Scarborough, United Kingdom, as a Porter/Catering Assistant for a part-time, term-time position. We’re looking for an efficient and customer-focused individual to support our catering operations on Saturday, Sunday and Mondays. 10.30 – 19.00 rate of pay £12.21 per hour

  • Assist in food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene
  • Serve meals and refreshments to students, staff, and visitors
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, dining rooms, and equipment
  • Transport food, supplies, and equipment between kitchen and service areas
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Support catering events and special functions as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, supportive attitude
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work weekends and Mondays from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM during term time
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff
  • Previous experience in catering or food service preferred
  • Food safety certification preferred
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
