Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning, caretaking or basic maintenance is highly advantageous.
• Experience in Front of House is a plus, but a strong customer service or security background is equally valued.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Health & safety qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Join Our Team as a Residential Porter!

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you enjoy making a difference in people's day-to-day lives? We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused Porter to join our dynamic team in Cambridge.

• Location: Cambridge, CB2
• Annual Salary: £26,000
• Hours/Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 7am-4pm or 1pm-10pm on a rotating basis between the Porter team. Weekend work is also required in this position with one weekend in three being required (Sat & Sun 10am-4pm, with the Thursday & Friday Off).

This role is very much a hands on role with a 50:50 split of cleaning/general caretaking duties and front of house responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Cleanliness of Communal areas: Vacuum & mop floors, Dust and polish wooden elements, Clean windows, Cleaning light fittings and replacing bulbs as required, Litter picking, Sweeping pathways, Gardening (Weeding, pruning, hedge trimming).
• Problem-Solving: Address issues promptly, from maintenance to emergencies, and escalate concerns to the building manager as needed.
• Security: Conduct regular site walk-arounds, check IDs, and monitor CCTV to maintain building safety.
• Welcome and Assist: Greet residents and visitors warmly, making them feel at home. Handle queries and assist with maintenance requests.
• Safety Checks: Looking out for H&S hazards on site patrol, Assist with fire alarm, emergency lighting, and smoke vent testing.
• Local Knowledge: Offer advice and recommendations about the local area to enhance residents’ experience
