Job description

Job Title: Portering Staff

The post holder will work as a member of the established Portering team to provide a highly visible, service user-focused, and professional Portering service to the Trust. The overarching goals are to create a safe and crime-free environment for all patients, staff, visitors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. Keyboard skills required.
  2. Occasional moderate lifting.
  3. Frequent light physical effort during shifts.
  4. Exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances due to the nature of the role.
  5. Dealing with difficult customers and service users in emotional situations.
  6. Continuous use of Visual Display Unit equipment most days.
  7. Working outdoors frequently.
  8. Exposure to unpleasant working conditions.
  9. Ability to remain alert and calm throughout shifts.
  10. Basic problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
  11. Frequent interruptions due to the changing nature of the role.
  12. Work involves unpredictable work patterns requiring concentration.
