A temporary position with Renfrewshire Council requires an individual to assist homeless applicants with moving in/out of temporary accommodation. Responsibilities include delivering furniture, maintaining cleanliness, and performing minor repairs. A full driving licence is essential.
You will be responsible to the Accommodation Co-ordinator for assisting homeless applicants to move in/out of temporary accommodation.
Responsibilities include assisting customers with moving furniture and belongings into and out of houses, delivering furniture starter packs, and maintaining cleanliness in houses and garden areas. You will also carry out minor repairs and DIY tasks within short stay flats.
Essential qualifications and skills include previous experience dealing with the public in person, cleaning, caretaking, furniture removal, and deliveries. Knowledge of the Renfrewshire area, effective communication skills, and a flexible approach to work are required. The ability to deal with service users sympathetically is also important.
Desirable qualifications include experience handling cash, maintaining stores, stock control, and a general understanding of Housing Services or Homelessness. Training in ergonomic manual handling is also beneficial.
A full current driving licence is essential.
This position is temporary, subject to business needs and funding, for 12 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever is earlier.
