A healthcare organization is seeking a motivated Porter to join their team in Rotherham. The ideal candidate will show strong communication skills, flexibility in their work, and the ability to learn new skills. Responsibilities include patient transport, equipment handling, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Applicants are required to work towards NVQ certification and should possess basic IT skills.
A vacancy has arisen within the Facilities for a Porter tojoin our team. We are looking for a motivated person with a positive attitude.A good team player with good communication skills.
The successful candidate will be flexible to cover thedemands of the service and be able to adapt to changes within the departmentand have the ability and initiative to learn new skills and work independently.The role is physical and requires walking for long periods of time and usingelectric tugs to transport items within the hospital site.
Being able to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Candidates must be willing to work towards NVQ Level 2Customer Service, and have basic IT knowledge. Must be reliable and be able toprioritise workload.
The use of a Teletracking system for taking patient transferrequests is essential.

To meet the requirements of the post, the porter willprovide an effective service for the Rotherham General Hospital, escortingpatients between wards and departments via wheelchair and Bed. Transportingequipment, mail, meals, specimens, linen, waste and moving furniture. Requiredto use electric Tug to transport waste and linen.
Out of Hours working under their own volition i.e.prioritising their own jobs, and taking direction from the Supervisor.
Work in high pressure areas to ensure safe and timelypatient transfers.
Working in high activity areas i.e. A&E is essential.
Required to carry a mobile telephone to access patienttransfers of the electronic Teletracking system. May be required to drive Trustvehicle as and when required.
