The post holder will work as a member of the established Portering team to provide a Portering service to the Trust. The role is highly visible, service user focused, and professional, with the overarching goal of creating a safe and crime-free environment for patients, staff, visitors, and the public.

Main duties of the job

  • Occasional moderate lifting
  • Frequent light physical effort during shifts
  • Exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances
  • Dealing with difficult customers and service users
  • Continuous use of Visual Display Unit equipment most days
  • Working outdoors frequently
  • Exposure to unpleasant working conditions
  • Ability to remain alert and calm
  • Basic problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Handling frequent interruptions and unpredictable work patterns
