Job description

We're looking for a Porter to join our team based in Huntington, Cambridge.

Location

Hinchingbrooke Treatment Centre - Huntington, Cambridge.

Hours

15 hours per week, on a shift rota basis between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Porter, you'll be carrying out the movement of both Patients and other portable equipment, materials, and consumables at Hinchingbrooke Treatment Centre.

Your Day To Day Will Include
  • Ensuring that all tasks listed within the portering specification are carried out safely, efficiently, and within the appropriate response times.
  • Providing a prompt and safe portering and security service to all wards and departments, in line with the Trust's needs.
  • Being responsible for the collection and delivery of specimens.
  • Becoming trained, skilled, and competent to deal with Medical gas bottle collection, delivery, and connections.
  • Reporting all significant matters to the portering/security team leader.
What are we looking for?

This role of Porter is suitable if you have:

  • Previous experience of portering within a medical environment, with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • An awareness of Trust policies and guidelines.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations with the ability to identify potential hazards and report them to the Team Leader.
  • The ability to show respect and compassion when dealing with sensitive situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
