Overview

The Portering department provides a range of services including patient movements, mortuary activity, transportation of equipment, medical records, handling of medical gases and post room duties. Tasks will involve driving Trust vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake shift and weekend working at either hospital site as required.
  • Perform duties related to the portering function, including patient movements, mortuary activity, transportation of equipment, medical records handling and post room duties.
Requirements
  • Clean, valid UK driving licence is essential.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the post.
  • Reliability, motivation and flexibility with good communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a hospital environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends at either hospital site.
  • Appointment subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.
