NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. There are 4 part-time posts available of 30 hours per week. This is a 5 over 7 days post with varied shifts including nightshift on a rota basis.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
The post holder is required to work as part of the Portering Team to deliver a quality service as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by Supervisory staff. Porters will work in various areas across the campus, providing a wide range of support services, covering patient movement, waste and linen handling, blood and blood products, specimen deliveries. A substantial amount of time is spent pushing/pulling/moving heavy goods/furniture, and the majority of hours on duty are spent standing or walking.
No formal educational qualifications are necessary, as the post holder will be given the necessary training to undertake the job. Reliability and a flexible approach to work are essential.
