Overview

We are recruiting for Porters who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. An opportunity has arisen within the Portering team at East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust for a general porter to join our team at Lister Hospital. You will need to be flexible as we are a 24/7 department 365 days of the year. Previous experience in a hospital is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
  • Move patients by bed, wheelchair, and trolleys; change medical gases; collect blood products; take specimens to the pathology lab; take deceased to the mortuary.
  • Co-operate with the Trust in maintaining suitable standards of Health and Safety; adhere to all Trust Policies and Procedures; work in compliance with rules and working practices.
  • Participate in training as appropriate and apply skills and knowledge to the role; training identified to fulfil the job description.
  • Fulfilling other duties as appropriate to the grade as determined from time to time.
