P&O Ferries are looking to recruit a number of Port Operatives based in Hull

In this role, you will support the management team to deliver cost-effective port operations to both internal and external customers. You will be responsible for assisting with ships departing on time or earlier.

Location: Hull. This role involves shifts including weekends, days, or nights, and working outside in various weather conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Discharging and loading RoRo cargo safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal capacity.
  2. Securing and unsecuring cargo onboard vessels in a controlled, timely, and safe manner, ensuring all lashing equipment is correctly stowed.
  3. Marshalling accompanied vehicles safely.
  4. Delivering and collecting passenger baggage to and from vessels.
  5. Having proven experience in driving RoRo Tractors AND/OR the aptitude to pass in-house training.
  6. Holding a full clean driving licence.
  7. Understanding of Health and Safety principles.
  8. Desirable but not essential: previous experience in port operations.
  9. Desirable but not essential: HGV Class 1 Licence.
