We are looking for a port operative to join us at Immingham. In this role, you will utilise your plant machinery experience to assist with the efficient loading and discharge of cargo from vessels.

This position operates on a 5 on, 3 off schedules, alternating between 2 days and 3 flexible shifts (which could be either days or nights, depending on business needs).

Accountabilities

  • Participate in any training deemed necessary to improve individual skills and knowledge and efficiency of the company.
  • Subject to suitable training operate Plant and Equipment (including Pre-Start checks), during vessel loading /discharging and cargo storage operations.
  • To carry out the job role in accordance with Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and to actively participate in Toolbox Talks.
  • Where relevant, understand and ensure targets are met ensuring that targets and operations remain continuous around safe and timely handover of shifts.
  • Cleaning of equipment and site as required and assisting in various other port duties

Qualifications And Experience

  • Full UK driving (car) licence and must have own transport.
  • Ability to navigate IT equipment e.g. smart phone, handheld terminals etc

Plant Experience

  • Forklift – up to 25T
  • Operating Skid Steers / Bobcat
  • Operating Mobile Hopper
  • Banksman duties

The ideal candidate must be highly flexible, as the role involves moving around the Humber and within the terminals, with duties ranging from banksman responsibilities to operating a forklift, depending on operational needs—this is not a fixed role, and no two days will be the same.
