We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Polymer Technician (25 hours per week) to join the prosthetics side of our business at our Leeds manufacturing site.

The Role

As a Polymer Technician, you will play a vital role in the manufacture of silicone gloves and other polymer products used on prosthetic limbs. You will be involved in every stage of production, from mixing and moulding materials to ensuring the highest standards of quality and finish.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing polymer products to the required QA standards.
  • Colour matching, mixing, and preparing materials to specification.
  • Slush moulding of PVC and silicone products.
  • Injection moulding of foam products.
  • Carrying out repair and detailing work on polymer products.
  • Using specialist machinery safely and effectively, including set-up, production, maintenance, and quality control checks.
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Supporting process improvements, minimising waste, and working towards a culture of 'Right First Time'.
  • Assisting colleagues, training others in the team, and escalating stock shortages where needed.
  • Participating in quality and safety meetings as required.
  • Carrying out adhoc duties to support the team leader.
What we are looking for

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude. Previous experience in polymer manufacturing or relevant qualifications is desirable, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
