The Conservative Group is seeking a political assistant.
This is a part-time post of three days per week.
The position will involve a mix of home and office-based working, plus some evening attendance at meetings (virtual and in person).
Key responsibilities will include:-
- Supporting and advising the group on key developments
- Research, monitoring and information on local issues
- Appraising group leadership of significant issues being considered by officers
- Supporting group members with information, advice and complex casework issues
- Providing reports and briefings as requested by group leadership
- Drafting and issuing press releases and preparing replies to routine correspondence
- General administration and support duties
Please note that this is a politically restricted post under the Local Government Act 1989.
