Job summary

Prime Appointments in Basildon, Essex, is recruiting for a Polisher/Fettler to join a leading aerospace manufacturer. This hands-on role involves deburring and polishing aircraft components to customer and aerospace quality standards within a machine shop.

You will work Mon-Thu 07:00-16:00 and Fri 07:30-12:30, earning £14.06 per hour. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods, follow instructions, and produce consistent finishes while complying with ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work from a list and follow verbal instructions.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand or sit for long periods.
• Able to perform repetitive work with honesty and motivation.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
• Experience using measuring/inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Remove burrs and sharp edges using files, scrapers and rotary tools.
• Grind/polish materials to drawing requirements using air/hand tools to achieve the required finish.
• Light polishing of various steel and aluminium components.
• Visual inspection of completed products.
• Complete appropriate documentation.
• Work to ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 standards.
• Support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement.

Pay Rate: £14.06 per hour

Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00 Fri 07:30-12:30

We are currently recruiting for a Polisher/Fettler to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Basildon.

This is a hands-on, precision engineering role working on aircraft components to customer-defined specifications and aerospace quality standards.

As a Polisher/Fettler you will be responsible for carrying out deburring and polishing of parts within a machine shop environment.

Duties

• Removing burrs and sharp edges using files, scrapers and rotary tools
