We are urgently recruiting for freelance Polish interpreters based in Manchester to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations.

We are currently recruiting for:

• Telephone Interpreters
• Translators

Please note this is a self-employed position

Job Responsibilities

• Listening to, understanding, and memorizing content in the source language, then accurately reproducing it in the target language.
• Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services.
• Checking the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence.
• Conducting conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Dealing with highly confidential information.
• Liaising between the service user and service provider.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Age 21 or over.
• Formal qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
• Flexible working hours.
• Ability to work from home.
• Self-employment status.
