Key Role Focus:
- Influence and shape public policy related to internet technologies.
- Advise on regulatory matters and manage risks related to online content, safety, and expression.
- Represent the client in discussions with policymakers, regulators, civil society, and industry partners.
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze UK and EU policy and regulatory developments affecting the internet, digital platforms, and technology.
- Develop policy strategies and positions on topics like online safety, content moderation, free expression, and platform responsibility.
- Collaborate internally with legal, communications, product, and engineering teams.
- Externally engage with policymakers, NGOs, and academic institutions.
- Support crisis response on policy matters impacting reputation and operations.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Policy/Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of the internet ecosystem, especially concerning platform governance, content regulation, digital rights, and online harm.
- Multilingual Communication: Ability to write and speak fluently in English and French, essential for work across the UK and Francophone regions.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven track record working with or within government, regulatory bodies, or civil society groups.
- Tech Industry Familiarity: Experience working in or with large tech companies or understanding of digital product environments.
- Strategic thinker with strong political and regulatory instincts.
- Skilled at navigating complex and sensitive policy environments.
- Strong writing ability—comfortable drafting policy briefs, op-eds, or legislative analysis.
- Able to simplify complex technical or legal issues for diverse audiences.
