We are seeking

to appoint a Policy Research Assistant to join the Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) Policy and Practice Research Group at the University of Oxford. The research group undertakes applied research on the design and implementation of policy and practice (including public health) for pandemic preparedness and response.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing your own academic research and administrative activities within guidelines provided by Dr. Alice Norton and the placement co-lead.
  2. Selecting, following, and adapting specialist methodologies.
  3. Undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and policy analyses.
  4. Writing up results for publication in peer-reviewed journals or for presentation at conferences or public meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g., global health, international development, tropical medicine, public health).

You should be able to manage your own research and administrative activities and possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write publishable text, present data at conferences, and represent the research network at meetings.
