Job description

We’re seeking a Product Owner to join our Retail Policy Lifecycle Management team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. As our capability domain expert, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering both business and customer value by managing our Policy Lifecycle Management. As we grow, you’ll support the business in ensuring our key business processes and platforms are stable, can handle additional capacity and are ready to meet new requirements as and when they arise.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, IT colleagues and vendor partners to ensure that capabilities are delivered effectively and in alignment with expectations.
  • Create, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it reflects current business needs and customer priorities.
  • Define clear acceptance criteria for user stories and features, provide final approval on deliverables to ensure they meet the defined requirements and deliver the intended value.
  • Ensure high quality product releases that deliver features and functionalities that meet defined acceptance criteria and quality standards, ensuring a robust and reliable product.
  • Support documenting the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning product development with overarching business goals.
  • Deliver customer value by ensuring the platform services meets business and customer needs and expectations.
  • Produce tangible benefits and a positive user experience.
  • Execute and deliver system capability improvement implementations, system consolidations, and support activities.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management, preferably in a Retail or policy management context.
  • Deep experience of Insurance Policy administration processes including billing.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience managing product backlogs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering customer value and enhancing user experience.
  • Familiarity with defining acceptance criteria and quality standards in product development.
  • Experience in documenting product vision, strategy, and roadmaps with a passion for operational resilience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of policy lifecycle management systems and processes would be advantageous.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

What we offer:

At AXA UK, we’re appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:

  • Competitive annual salary of up to £75,000 dependent on experience
  • Discretionary company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
