Job summary

Baringa is seeking an experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant to join its Policy and Economics practice in the UK. You will apply economic reasoning and quantitative analysis to policy and regulatory changes in energy markets, developing models and delivering evidence-based insights for major clients.

The role involves translating analysis into clear recommendations, supporting client propositions, and fostering collaborations with governments, regulators and corporates.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years' experience in consulting, government, industry or a similar analytical role, with a focus on energy markets, policy or economics.
• Experience using quantitative analysis, economic modelling or data analysis techniques to evaluate market or policy outcomes.
• Produced high-quality written reports, presentations or consultation responses, translating complex analysis into clear and persuasive recommendations.
• Good understanding of energy markets and structures underpinning policy and emerging trends.
• Experience working with clients or senior stakeholders to scope problems, communicate findings and deliver analytical projects to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Apply economic reasoning and quantitative analysis to assess the impact of policy and regulatory changes on energy markets, investors, consumers and other market participants.
• Develop robust analytical models and evidence-based insights to inform client decision-making on complex policy and market issues.
• Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling and commercially relevant recommendations for clients.
• Produce high-quality written outputs, including reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior client stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and development of new service offerings.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and support project delivery from inception to final recommendations.
• Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen capabilities and tools.
• Stay abreast of emerging policy, regulatory and market developments and identify implications for clients.
