Bury Council is looking for a skilled individual to join its Policy and Compliance Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing Information Governance and compliance, while actively supporting various services. This position offers a chance to make a real difference in the community, ensuring that proper governance practices are upheld and stakeholders are supported effectively.

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Policy and Compliance Team. In this role you will report directly to the Policy and Compliance Manager and you will play a key part in overseeing and delivering core functions related to:
You will be responsible for maintaining the Council's Information Governance Framework, offering expert advice to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and supporting services in responding to FOIs, SARs and EIRs.
In addition you may be asked to support in investigating complaints across a wide range of service areas.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
