Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy (CIIP) is a global not-for-profit policyconsultancy unit based at IfM Engage, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University ofCambridge. CIIP helps governments and public agencies to design and implementeffective industrial innovation strategies and programmes, drawing on cutting-edgeacademic research and real-world policy insights. CIIP specialises in policies for technology, manufacturing, and industrial innovation, and provides expert consulting,training, and international benchmarking services to help shape effective policies.
For the position of Policy Analyst, both early career and experienced applicants will be considered. The salary for the Policy Analyst is up to £48,000 per annum, based on the candidate’s skills and experience, plus a generous benefits package, including private healthcare insurance. IfM Engage is responsible for ensuring that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
This is a fixed-term position for 2 years in the first instance, with the option to be extended based on performance, grant funding availability and internal approval.
A successful candidate will have a strong background in either economics, engineering or public policy, with knowledge of topics related to industrial safety highly desirable, a firm grasp of key technology and industrial trends, and have an interest in technology and innovation policy, economic development and/or industrial policy. The ideal candidate should also show strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in event coordination along with the ability to work across diverse international teams and contribute to the Unit’s global work.
Role Summary
The selected candidate will have the following main responsibilities:
• Provide programme management support for the Global Initiative for IndustrialSafety.
• Evidence gathering and data analysis.
• Drafting of briefings and reports.
• Ad-hoc activities to support the delivery of consulting projects
