Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking a Policy Advisor for a government organization in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of People and Culture policies, ensuring legal compliance and promoting a high-performing workplace. Full CIPD membership and relevant experience in employee relations are required. This is a hybrid role on a 7-month contract with a pay rate of £22.50 per hour.

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Policy Advisor for our client a local government organisation in Bournemouth.The successful candidate will lead the development, review, and implementation of People and Culture policies and procedures to support organisation's strategic objectives, ensure legal compliance, and promote a fair, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.This role is a 7 month contract with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working.Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Review, consult on, and support the implementation of People and Culture policies in line with employment legislation, best practice, and values Monitor changes in employment law and advise on implications for policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture colleagues, trade unions, legal advisors, and service managers to ensure policies are practical, legally sound, and aligned with organisational needs.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex HR policy development to senior leaders and People and Culture Business Partners.
Personal Requirements:
  • Full Membership of CIPD.
  • Relevant experience of employee relations and policy development in a unionised environment..
  • Ability to analyse complex HR processes and produce logical and accessible policies and procedures.
Working Hours:37hrs / 8:30am - 17:00pm / Monday to FridayPay:£22.50 per hrPlease note this role is within the scope of IR35.
