About The Role

To deliver projects and produce research, briefings, and reports for the London Assembly, its committees, and its Members.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Produce and deliver projects, including research, briefings, reports, and outputs for the London Assembly’s Budget and Performance Committee and its Members.
  • Manage and deliver projects effectively, working closely with the team and wider Secretariat to maximize quality and impact.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with officers within the Assembly’s Secretariat, Assembly Members, and officers within the GLA to support project delivery and ensure proper briefing and communication.
  • Maintain relationships with partner organizations to ensure stakeholder management and enhance the reputation of the London Assembly.
  • Ensure all work and outputs meet high standards of communication and research.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary, cross-departmental, and cross-organizational groups and projects, adopting a flexible approach.
What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Review budget submissions and financial reports, identifying key financial issues and trends.
  • Support London Assembly Committees with financial data and information.
  • Brief Assembly Members on financial issues.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Essential criteria include:

  • Strong analysis and briefing/report drafting skills in a policy context.
  • Ability to quickly understand new topics and financial policy issues.
  • Knowledge of political, policy, and governance issues related to London and the UK.
  • A relevant financial degree or equivalent qualification, or demonstrated financial analysis skills.

Desirable criteria include experience in a political environment and delivering complex policy projects.
