Schedule: Full-Time 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:00pm)

Position Summary

Responsible for providing technical support, trouble shooting, and installations to end users of effectively over the telephone and through email for the City of Reading Police Department. Implements and maintains the policies and goals to support the needs. Ensures proper information system operations and plans necessary upgrades.

Typical duties may include but not limited to:

  • Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems
  • Be the first point of contact to provide resolution of all technical queries from end users
  • Works closely with the IT team to continually improve the end user experience based on feedback received
  • Track and own tickets through to resolution when issues are not able to be resolved on first contact
  • Organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments & deliverables effectively
  • Provide software troubleshooting for end users
  • Support and act as backup administrator for police software
  • Support and act as backup administrator for access control system
  • Asset tracking of all IT equipment, procurement, and budgeting
  • Create preventative maintenance schedules on PC’s, network and applications
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and complies with the approved budget
  • Conducts research and recommends the selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies
  • Perform basic training with computer software and windows
