Police Staff Investigator PIP Level 2 – Serious and Organised Crime Unit HC622056

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Police Staff Scale SO1, £35,526 to £37,692, per annum

Hours: Full time - 37 hours - There is an optional call out rota.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time/Flexible and part-time working considered.

Opportunity for you?

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced PIP2 PSI investigator to develop their skills in a professional and dedicated team carrying out serious and complex investigations in Portsmouth.

SOCU offers an environment where you can engage in intelligence development and covert investigations to disrupt organised crime groups.

Your duties include statement taking, CCTV review, suspect interviews, file building, disclosure declarations, and full Officer in Case duties, including court attendance and testimony.

You will also support other investigators with case progression tasks like disclosure reviews, redacting, reviewing third-party data, and document scheduling.

Requirements include a PIP2 qualification or equivalent, proven investigatory experience, knowledge of Criminal Law and Justice procedures; knowledge of RIPA and communications data is advantageous but not essential.

The SOCU team works a variable shift pattern including late shifts and weekends over a 3-week rotation.
