Police Staff Investigator PIP Level 2 – Serious and Organised Crime Unit HC622056

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Police Staff Scale SO1, £35,526 to £37,692 per annum

Hours: Full time - 37 hours - There is an optional call out rota.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time/Flexible and part-time working considered.

Opportunity Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced PIP2 PSI investigator to develop their skills in a professional and dedicated team carrying out serious and complex investigations in the Eastern area based in Portsmouth.

SOCU offers an environment where you can engage in intelligence development and covert investigations aimed at disrupting and dismantling organised crime groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Statement taking
  • Securing and reviewing CCTV
  • Suspect interviewing
  • File building including disclosure declarations
  • Full Officer in Case (OIC) duties, including court attendance and giving evidence
  • Supporting other investigators with case progression such as disclosure reviews, redacting material, reviewing 3rd party data, and document scheduling
Qualifications and Experience

Qualified to PIP2 or equivalent, with proven experience in an investigative role. Knowledge of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice procedures is preferred. Familiarity with RIPA and working with communications data is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Information

The SOCU team works a variable shift pattern, including late shifts and weekends over a 3-week rotation.
