Job Title: Police Staff Investigator PIP Level 1 (SOCU) - HC622059

Location: Southampton Central Police Station




Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week


Closing Date: Sunday 7th September 2025 at 23:59 hours

About The Role

An opportunity is open to a PIP1 PSI who wants to develop their investigative skills working with a dedicated team focussing on serious and complex investigations in the Western area, working from SC.

SOCU is an exciting environment where you will have the opportunity to become involved in intelligence development and covert investigations with a view to disrupting and dismantling organised crime groups.

Your duties will encompass a wide range of investigative activities including, but not limited to, statement taking, securing and reviewing CCTV, suspect interviewing, file building inc disclosure declarations, and full Officer in Case (OIC) duties for PIP1 investigations held within the team.

You will also assist other investigators with key case progression such as disclosure reviews, redacting material, reviewing 3rd party data and document scheduling.

It would be beneficial, but not essential for you to have a working knowledge and experience of RIPA and working with communications data.

The SOCU team work a variable shift pattern including some late shifts and weekend working over a 3 week rotation period. It is expected that you will perform a call out function.

Competent Investigator PIP1 (Successful
