Job summary

Birmingham & Solihull Women's Aid is recruiting a Police Partnership IDVA for the West Midlands Police Call Centre and Domestic Abuse Desk. The role provides specialist expertise on IDVA to support officers and staff in responding to domestic abuse against women and children.

Working 37 hours per week, shift pattern 9am–7pm with possible weekend cover. You will deliver tailored guidance, training and trauma-informed practice, and ensure safe, appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

• Specialist expertise on IDVA within West Midlands Police.
• Provide guidance and professional support to officers and staff.
• Trauma-informed interventions for women and children affected by DVA.

Responsibilities

• Work with WMP to raise understanding of DVA to promote safe practices.
• Support responses to women and children’s safety and inform rights and options.
• Develop relationships with staff and provide training and supervision.
• Record work and contribute to monitoring and funder returns.
• Maintain health and safety records and contribute to safeguarding processes.
