Join a forward-thinking police force dedicated to community service and public safety. This entry route program offers a unique opportunity for those with a Professional Policing Degree to begin their career as a fully warranted police officer. With a structured training period, you will gain essential skills in evidence-based policing, decision-making, and crime prevention. As you progress, you will have opportunities for specialization and advancement within the force. This role not only allows you to earn a competitive salary from day one but also empowers you to make a real difference in your community.
If you already hold the Professional Policing Degree (PPD) or are in the second or third year of your study, then this is the entry route for you.
The PPD entry route is a two-year work-based programme. You will undertake an initial learning period of 12-14 weeks at our training centre in Sulhamstead or Kidlington, before moving to your designated Local Policing Area for further operational coaching and tutoring.
You will receive training in areas critical to effective 21st-century policing, such as evidence-based policing, decision-making and discretion, risk and public protection, and criminality and crime prevention.
Once you successfully complete your two-year probation, you will have opportunities for further progression and specialization within the force.
This programme offers a fantastic opportunity to continue learning beyond your initial degree while earning a salary as a fully warranted police officer from day one.
The starting salary for all new recruits is £32,907 (including a £3,000 South-East allowance). Officers can expect to earn over £51,000 per annum by their seventh year.
This application is primarily for Oxfordshire, covering Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Cowley, Didcot, and Witney police stations. Locations in Buckinghamshire or Berkshire will also be considered. Please apply for only one location.
