Salary: £32,907 (including a £3,000 South East living allowance)

The Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) offers a comprehensive training of two years. It begins with 24 weeks of initial learning at our Training Centres in Sulhamstead and Kidlington, followed by operational coaching at your designated Local Command Unit (LCU). There is no academic assessment during this entry programme, and it does not include academic accreditation. After successfully completing your two-year probation, you will become a substantive Police Constable with opportunities for progression and specialization within the Force.

The starting salary for new recruits is £32,907, with potential to earn over £51,000 annually by the seventh year.

This application is primarily for Buckinghamshire covering Amersham, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, and Milton Keynes. Other locations in Oxfordshire or Berkshire may also be considered. Do not apply for multiple locations.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Age: At least 17 at application, 18 by first day, no upper age limit.
  2. Citizenship: British, EC/EEA with Pre-Settled/Settled status, or Commonwealth/foreign national with Indefinite Leave to Remain.
  3. Residency: UK resident for the last 3 years.
  4. Qualifications/Experience: GCSE English (A*-C/9-4) or equivalent, plus two A-Levels (A-E) or relevant professional experience. Experience in sectors like armed forces, criminal justice, emergency services, health and social care, law enforcement, police staff roles, or teaching is encouraged. All experience is assessed case-by-case.
  5. Driving Licence: Full manual UK or EU licence by the time of offer.
  6. Health: Good physical and mental health.
  7. Tattoos/Piercings: Not offensive.
  8. Location: Reside within 30 crow miles or 40 road miles of two main police stations, with a 1-hour commute. Flexibility for postings is expected.

Application Process includes self-assessment, online application, national sift, eligibility check, in-person interview, provisional offer, and pre-employment checks.
