Job summary

British Transport Police is recruiting Police Officers in Stevenage, Colchester, Southend, Brighton and Guildford. The Police Constable Entry Programme offers broad training and deployment across one of the world’s busiest transport networks.

Starting salary is £33,609 with year-on-year progression to £52,014 after five years, plus South East allowances. Benefits include travel perks, generous leave, a CARE pension, and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths required or willingness to undertake the assessment
• Level 3 qualification or relevant work experience required or alternative route
• Relevant policing experience as part of eligibility criteria

Responsibilities

• Keep passengers, railway staff and local communities safe across a busy transport network
• Respond to incidents and emergencies and provide immediate support
• Investigate crime and safeguard vulnerable people when needed
• Support victims and witnesses throughout the policing process
