Overview

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Assessor to join the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) team in the Operational Intelligence Management Unit (OIMU). Applications are invited from Police Constables who are looking to work in the heart of counter terrorism policing.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, assess and evaluate intelligence.
  • Gather information / intelligence to inform decision making and take ownership of tasking and prioritise any immediate actions based on the threat and risk presented in order to identify further intelligence or evidential opportunities and mitigate any identified threat.
  • Problem solve in conjunction with partners and act as a conduit for the two-way flow of overt, sensitive and secret information. Manage intelligence for live operations across the South East and contribute to the development of strategic and tactical intelligence assessments, target and problem profiles and other National Intelligence Model products.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Ideally the successful applicant will have Counter Terrorism experience with proven experience within an intelligence environment; applications are also encouraged from candidates with an investigative background as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to undertake sensitive high profile enquiries with limited supervision and therefore high standards of integrity and professionalism combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Travel requirements: may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK; a full UK driving licence is required.
  • On-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region.
  • Security: must obtain and maintain DV vetting together with enhanced security checks; must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years (exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service); note potential travel limitations to a small number of countries once in post.
